Our goal at GO Surplus is to serve our economy and environment by recycling electronic waste in a safe and efficient manner.

What Electronics Can I Recycle?

All electronics should be recycled.  If it has a power cord or uses batteries, it can be recycled.  Common recyclables include televisions, computers and related (monitors, printers, peripherals, etc.), stereos, telephones, copiers, etc.  Large appliances may be refused at some recycling centers.  We charge a disposal fee for televisions and floor-model copiers.

Where Can I Recycle Electronics?

GO Computer Center accepts items for recycle during business hours at their store in Salem.  Please call in advance if you have several items and will require assistance to unload (330-337-3656).  Visit gocomputercenter.com for more information.

A Pickup may be scheduled by calling 330-337-8355.  Pickup and removal charges will apply.

Local Recycle Drives may be scheduled in your area from time to time.  You can check this page for upcoming drives, or contact your local or county recycling division.

Why Should I Recycle Electronics?

Recycling electronics is economically practical.  According to the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, 75% of all retired computers in the U.S. are in storage.  That equates to thousands of dollars spent just to store obsolete equipment.  Electronic recycling recovers both the storage real-estate and the reusable metals.  Most electronic items can be recycled at no cost to you.

Recycling electronics is environmentally responsible.  Electronics contain toxic material, such as lead and mercury, which must be disposed of properly.  (That is why most waste services cannot accept larger electronic items.)  Recycling your electronics ensures that both harmful and reusable materials are kept out of our landfills.
